La Filipina Uy Gongco Group of Companies is the largest importer and distributor of US soybean meal in Asia. Through the years, the Company’s requirement of soybean meal has been increasing from previously 270,000 metric tons in 2012 and 300,000 metric tons in 2013 to about 340,000 metric tons in 2014. These imports have made the Philippines into the first spot for US soymeal exports. Soybean meal is used as raw material for animal feeds.
