Basilan Fisherfolk and Farmers Cooperative was established in a small sitio in Maluso about 20 years ago with an initial membership of over a hundred heads of families. The cooperative of is composed of fishermen and farmers who had come back to society after former president Fidel Ramos and Nur Misuari signed the peace agreement in 1996. The cooperative has more than 900 member-families, all able to support their own economic needs and able to send their children to school and believing that there is a better life awaiting them and their families after years of conflict.
