The biennial search for exemplary individuals in the Southeast Asia is here once again. The Dioscoro L. Umali Achievement Award recognizes outstanding persons who have contributed to the advancement of agricultural development in the aforementioned region which is in line with the example set by Dr. Umali as the first director of the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) and a well-known development practitioner. This citation covers agricultural developments and achievements in the fields of food security, land & water management, environment & natural resource management, technology development, poverty reduction, plant and animal sciences, technology management, economics and business, business and economics, policy and governance, among others.
Winners will received a plaque and USD 10,000. This recognition is a collaboration of SEARCA, National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) Philippines, and Dioscoro L. Umali Foundation, Inc. (DLUF). Deadline for nominations is until April 30, 2018.
