Hamungaya Sugar Mill was set up in 2013 by Felipe Pachoco as its first major distribution deal for its muscovado sugar product. Muscovado sugar is a type of semi-refined sugar that can be produced with relatively unsophisticated equipment, but the production process is not as efficient as other types of sugar. Hamungaya Farms also produce premium pesticide-free and fertilizer-free black and red rice.
