Sorosoro Ibaba Development Cooperative (SIDC) was first established on March 19, 1969, as Sorosoro Ibaba Farmers’ Association, through Mr. Victoriano E. Barte who acted as the President and as the General Manager. The start-up of the association was taken from the voluntary contribution of then 59 members gaining a total capital of P11, 800.00. The capital was used for the construction of stores that offered basic commodities for the residents. The association has also become the seller of different products like feeds and veterinary products which they offered at lower prices.
The association was officially named as Sorosoro Ibaba Development Cooperative (SIDC) in 1997 when it was registered with the Ministry of Agriculture as a development cooperative. The cooperative has 10,547 regular members and 14,250 associate members as of 2016 and will continue to grow due to the success and benefits it provides not only to the members but also to the community.
