Cagayan Robina Sugar Milling Company (CARSUMCO), a sugar division of Universal Robina Corporation (URC). The crude sugar process and the coordinated refinery were built in 1976. The plant was initially claimed by a gathering of resigned military officers headed by the late Gen. Eulogio Balao. It was initially named as Cagayan Sugar Corporation (CASUCO). The plant was obtained at the beginning of the harvest year 1990-1991 by Universal Robina Corporation.
The refinery plant was incorporated with the crude sugar process and was intended to work under the Carbonation Process of sugar refining. The plant site is arranged at Sto. Domingo, Piat, Cagayan.
More often than not, the refinery works all the while with the crude sugar process so as to decrease working costs by exploiting the normal/double usage of steam and electric power created by the current crude sugar process steam and power plant.
